Growing up in a small town in Louisiana does not traditionally lend itself to finding the resources to become a filmmaker. Michael Rees looked beyond this and found interest in filmmaking at a very young age, crafting cinematic short films as early as fifteen.

His editorial experience includes some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Drake, Cardi B, Cage The Elephant, and Billie Eilish just to name a few. Michael’s work often finds a strange balance between tranquility and chaos, combining both analog and digital effects with surreal and atmospheric voyeurism. More recently, Michael is making the transition to directing videos for up and coming artists and working on narrative short films.
